Are you connected to Official and Unofficial GSK Council sites? 5 Suggestions. A post for Leaders and other Volunteers.

Let's get Connected, Girl Scouts!! (5 Suggestions. Plus more).

For Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Leaders and Volunteers.

Hello, and hope you are having a great year.

It's time for graduations, maybe trips, sometimes Early Registration (Early Bird for troops), awards, camp registration, and more.

Q: Are you connected to your areas's Official and Unofficial pages?

Here is another list for you to help you get connected (if you aren't already).

#1. Connect to MYGS. Make sure you are registered for the current year. Also, register your troop EARLY here. You will be put on an official list to get emails, featuring events and current happenings! If you are not getting this important email, "News You Can Use", be sure to check on that link at the Council Site. That page is here: https://www.gskentuckiana.org/.

(After going to the site, click on the MYGS tab at the top to get started.)

If you are having any problems, just contact GSK staff here: https://www.gskentuckiana.org/en/our-council/web-to-case.html via email, phone, or form.

#2. Get in touch with your Service Unit Manager. When are your meetings? Be sure to attend these throughout the year, especially if you are a leader. Some Service Units have Unofficial Facebook or other pages, too. Ask about these. If you do not know who your SU Manager is, just ask at the GSK Contact page: https://www.gskentuckiana.org/en/our-council/web-to-case.html.

Also, your Area has meetings, too. Just as, your Service Unit Manager about that, or contact GSK here: https://www.gskentuckiana.org/en/our-council/web-to-case.html.

#3. Join the GSK Official Facebook page. It is here: https://www.facebook.com/GSKentuckiana.

#4. Join some Unofficial Girl Scout pages. There are many. Some are for your council, some are about Girl Scout Governance, (and how to get involved in that), pages about our wonderful camps, and more. They are fun and informational.

#5. Take some Girl Scout trainings! It will help you meet other Volunteers, make new friends, learn about all kinds of opportunities, and makes things SO much easier. You can learn about how to get the girls Outdoors, special events, fun tips, how to be a Trainer, and more. Find out about available trainings at the GSK website here: https://www.gskentuckiana.org/en/for-volunteers/training.html.

And here is a Spring and Summer Event Guide, too, for you to download, print out, and use.

I hope you had a GREAT year as a Leader or other Volunteer! Leave your comments below about your year, interests, questions, etc.

E. Sheppard

GSK Volunteer and Trainer

PS: Have a GREAT summer, too!
