Hi from the UNofficial Betsyanne Girl Scout Blog. Warren/Edmonson SU Mtg, and Girl Scout Week

Are you in the GSKYANA Warren-Edmonson Service Unit? We have a meeting tomorrow.
Here's our latest message from our SU Mgr, Cathy J.:

"Good Morning Girl Scouts,
Just a Reminder that we are having a scheduled Service Unit Meeting Tuesday March 14th at 6:00pm at the Kirby Library. This is a regularly scheduled meeting. Parts of the agenda will be Rallyhood, Service Unit Positions, Adult Awards, and many other updates.
Thanks,
Cathy"

AND JUST ADDED:

Tracey says, "Don't forget to bring donations of bags of individually wrapped candy for the egg hunt for the Daisies and Brownies to the SU. meeting tomorrow."

Next: It's Girl Scout Week! Yay!

This is a celebration week for Girl Scouts. Here is something about it from a FB posting:

This first paragraph is via Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline:

"Girl Scout Birthday: March 12

The Girl Scout Birthday on March 12 commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization’s first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia. This year, 2017, represents our 105th birthday!"

This day is the start of Girl Scout Week this year.

Also: (from 2013) What celebrities were Girl Scouts?
Try Abigail Breslin, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, the late Carrie Fisher, Katie Couric, Blythe Danner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Barbara Walters, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, Dr. Sally Ride, Astronaut and first Woman in Space, Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Gloria Steinem, the late Debbie Reynolds, and Sheryl Crow - - and that's just a few!

Via GS of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana:
"An amazing 64% percent of today's women leaders in the United States (civic, corporate, political, etc.) were once Girl Scouts!"

Here is a list of MORE GS alumni. https://www.girlscoutsgcnwi.org/en/our-council/famous-formers.html.

This year, the Girls Scout organization turns 105.

Happy Birthday, Girl Scouts!

Have a great Girl Scout Week.

Adding: Here is something fun from the Vintage GS site. It lists some activities Girl Scouts have done during Girl Scout Week for several dates.

It does NOT have all our events on it. For those, you must go to the MYGS pages at the official Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana website. Here is that link:

Check the official pages often. I post to the other site when I have time. And I've been VERY busy lately! Send me your events to add, I'm at lizann 447 at yahoo.com (no spaces). Later! -B
