Sharing the Linktree site for Girl Scouts, and sharing other Official GSUSA sites to explore.

Hello, fellow Girl Scouts. I hope you are well and happy today.

I have some great and popular Official Girl Scout pages to share with you today. There are just PARTIAL pictures of them.

#1: The Official Girl Scouts of the USA website: https://www.girlscouts.org/

Right now there is a link to buy Girl Scout Cookies no matter where you live. I think this is a great idea. Another place that is good to follow is the Girl Scouts at Home page: https://www.girlscouts.org/en/girl-scouts-at-home.html. It has great VIRTUAL activities there, for troops, girls, and leaders.

#2. The Official Girl Scout Blog

and FB page.

#3. Girl Scouts on Twitter

and Instagram

AND #4. (new-ish - saw on Instagram) Girl Scouts on Linktree

(There are more categories here on Linktree too... this is just the top section.)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I was going also to put UNofficial sites to explore here - but that will be for another day. In the meantime, go to Facebook if you use it, and search for Girl Scouts in your area.

If you are in the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana Council, you may want to search for your own Area page there, and the KYANA pages too - for Camp Pages just search for KYANA plus the name of the camp. KYANA Volunteers are also there.

If you love the Outdoors, try going to the Outdoor Girl Scout Project (Unofficial) and applying to join. It's here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/outdoor.journey.

All for today! Happy Girl Scout exploring today.

It's been awhile.... updating my Girl Scout blog today, April 1st, 2017. Sharing ONE April Fool's Posting from GSUSA too.

Hi, all.

It's April Fool's Day, and GSUSA is entering into the fun.

Here is their posting on the official blog: Meow Scout Bianca: A Pawsitive Force in Scouting.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Love that. Here is one of the photos too:

Aw! Bianca is collecting cat food for Pet Shelter friends. Looks like she also is keeping the table clean and free of snacks.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Don't forget about the UNofficial Calendar here at the blog. Not everything is on there, but some things are. It could be helpful if you are planning an event. Let me know if I need to add more things here, especially in Area 17 or Open Events.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you are at an UNofficial Facebook page, you can now access flyers or jpgs of recent news, such as Early Bird Rewards (with new cards explained) and also the new Kentuckiana Credits info.

Your SU Mgr. may already have shared these with you also, via email or a link to your new SU page on another site.

IF you are on FB, some useful links are here:

Area 17's Unofficial FB page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/294305000987780/

SU 722 (Warren and Edmonson) https://www.facebook.com/groups/KYANA.Cluster2.and.Beyond/
and
KYANA All-Around Unofficial FB page  https://www.facebook.com/groups/KYANA.GS/

Some other Areas and SU's have their own pages. Try Searching if you are on FB for those, or ask your Service Unit Manager about that. Not all SU's have pages yet.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A MUST-DO!
Don't forget to get registered at the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana MYGS/Volunteer Toolkit pages.
Here is that link: https://gsmembers.force.com/members/login. You need to be registered here to get important GSK reminders, emails, and news - - to get on the mailing list.

Plus, there is a LOT of info. here about troops, official events, and more. You can even populate your meetings, and there are some FUN games there too.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Here is a copy of the neat Girl Scouts DNA flyer we got at the Annual Meeting.

This just in - - Our National CEO comments on the Annual Membership Fee Increase

<Part of the GSUSA Official Blog today>

"A Message From Our CEO: Innovating on Behalf of Girls

Posted: 23 Mar 2016 10:00 PM PDT

"At Girl Scouts we are always thinking about the future and how we can best prepare the next generation of girls to take the lead every day. Our Movement has such a rich history of forward thinking and innovation—and now in our second century, as we advance the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, it continues to be important that we keep pace with an ever-changing world.
As the first and largest girl-led organization in the world, we continue to evolve our unique leadership program and implement new technologies and ways of work to enhance the Girl Scout experience for girls, volunteers, and parents. To ensure we have the resources to support this work, the National Board of Girl Scouts of the USA has made a decision to increase the annual membership fee to $25, starting October 1, 2017, for both girl and adult members.
While this fee increase will impact many families, we know that a Girl Scout membership is one of the most valuable investments anyone can make in a girl’s life. With unique programs for girls from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl a chance to explore new interests and face challenges, form new friendships, and make lasting community contributions. Every dollar of membership dues is sent to Girl Scouts of the USA to cover the cost of fundamental services supporting the Girl Scout Movement including: accident insurance for members participating in approved Girl Scout activities, research, resources, training, and services to councils.
With the extra funding, we will be able to sustain and develop exceptional leadership programs, implement digital innovations to enhance the girl and volunteer experience nationwide, maintain fundamental services for our 2.7 million members, and better engage our 59 million alumnae. It will enable Girl Scouts of the USA to continue delivering best-in-class service and support to our Movement’s 112 councils, and to provide thousands of volunteers with the relevant resources, tools, and training they need to best serve today’s girls.
Nationally, we are building some amazing programs for girls in the areas of STEM, entrepreneurship, outdoor, and life skills. Locally, girls are empowered with the skills and entrepreneurial know-how to lead and succeed in the industries of tomorrow, as they tackle local and global issues of interest to them, such as poverty, illiteracy, and pollution. The additional funding provided by the upcoming membership fee increase will ensure this important programming endures and thrives.
At Girl Scouts, we remain grounded in the core principles of our founder Juliette Gordon Low—of being an organization that is inclusive, accessible, and innovative—and we are committed to providing a positive and meaningful experience to every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout throughout her life journey. For more information about how this adjustment to our membership dues may affect you, please refer to our FAQ.
Thank you for your continued support of girls and your investment in our mission.

Yours in Girl Scouting,
Anna Maria Chávez CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA"

<Adding: For our council, I hear that our GSK Board will be discussing our council service fee as we move forward too.>

Further discussion about the increase in our (National) Annual Membership Fee is taking place on this subject at the unofficial Outdoor Girl Scout Project today. If you are a member, come join the conversation! If you are not, you can apply here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/outdoor.journey/

and I will OK you there.

We are also discussing Proposals and Discussion Proposals that councils can give to their CEO's and Boards to move forward for the National Council Session in 2017 as well.

You can also leave a comment here anytime! :-)
