Not all the news that is fit to print - but some!

THIS MEETING FOR THE WARREN COUNTY SERVICE UNIT IS TOMORROW - - TUESDAY!

SHARING AGAIN: A message from our SU Mgr, Tracey D.

"Hello,
Our last Service Unit meeting for this school year will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6pm at the Kirby Library branch. Please plan to attend.

Leslie will be there for anyone who may want/need help with Early Bird registration. Remember, all registrations must be done on-line now. Please consider bringing your laptop or other device if you would like to use your own. She will also have hers with her to help.

We will have our awards and recognition at this meeting as well as a lot of other things that will need to be covered. We ask kindly that you not bring kids if at all possible since we do have so much to try to cover.

If anyone has anything in particular that you would like to see us review/discuss at this meeting then please let us know ahead of time so that we can plan for it in advance. We don't want to keep anyone any longer than necessary.

I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Tracey"

From me: If you can't attend, have somebody else from your troop (a Troop Committee Member or Co-Leader or Parent) attend for you and take notes.

LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER!

If you haven’t registered yet for Outdoor Training Weekend, the time is NOW. Really. Don’t delay. IMPORTANT: Because registrations and payment info have to be mailed to Owensboro, it can take the USPS a week to get your mailing there. But we need class counts right away — so when you put your registration in the mail, please also do the following: Write me at woelfelmarty@aol.com with the classes you want to take. (For Camp In B, be sure to tell us morning or afternoon class; for Camp Out be sure to tell us Saturday or Sunday; and for Canoeing Facilitator be sure to tell us Saturday or Sunday.) Note: Archery Facilitator is FULL and we are wait-listing people for that class. (It will be offered again during Autumn Adventure Weekend Sept 30-Oct 2 for certain and probably some other times/places in the fall.)

The signup for this is online and also available in the Files section at the KYANA Unofficial FB page.

These pages at the official GSUSA website are worth a look, especially if you have older girls.

Check out all the Destinations available for girls here at the GSUSA website: http://forgirls.girlscouts.org/tr…/take-a-trip/destinations/

Also, all Getaways are listed here: http://forgirls.girlscouts.org/travel/take-a-trip/getaways/.

And International Events are here: http://forgirls.girlscouts.org/…/take…/international-events/

Be sure to check all application deadlines carefully. If deadlines are past on some, you can always look at these pages earlier next time with your girls. Many events change from year to year, but some stay almost the same.

Via Beth: "Our Nations Capitol Council and GSUSA are sponsoring a Gold Award Centennial Display on Capitol Hill on June 14th. 8 Gold Award recipients nationwide were chosen to display their Gold Award Projects and GSK is honored to have our own Hannah Gadd be one of those 8 girls!"

Our council also is planning some special activities for all Members who have received Girl Scouting's highest award. Stay tuned to hear more about that from our council.

An FYI: Great online safety resources for kids are at the official US Gov site: kids.gov. They just got updated too.
